In the past, Melinda had dated Li. Melinda had thought that she wanted to get into a real relationship with Li. However, Melinda had wanted to get Li to confess to getting Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (Richard Wharton) to brainwash Harris Michaels (Steve Burton) to kill Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash). Melinda had needed to get Li to confess in order to keep her job as DA because Paulina Price (Jackee Harry) wanted to fire her.In the end, Melinda was not able to get Li to confess. Understandably, Li was furious that Melinda had wanted to try to entrap him. However, Melinda will be upset to find out that Li has met with foul play from his ex-wife Gabi Hernandez (Camila Banus). Melinda may want to try to find a way to bring Gabi to justice for killing Li.

Recently, Melinda has gotten to be friends with Sloan Peterson (Jessica Serfaty). Melinda knows that Sloan has been trying to hold onto her relationship with her husband Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan). Sloan knows that Eric would leave her because he still loves Nicole. However, Sloan has been able to keep a secret from Eric. Sloan knows that Eric is the father of Nicole’s baby. Luckily, Sloan has been able to turn to Melinda to help her to keep the secret.
Sloan and Eric have wanted to be able to adopt a child because Sloan has not been able to carry a child full term. Melinda has been trying to help Sloan and Eric to adopt a baby. However, Melinda is going to be able to get a baby from Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) and Dimitri Von Leuschner (Peter Porte). Unfortunately, Melinda will not know that Leo and Dimitri are going to give her Nicole’s baby.Finally, Melinda will need to find a way to set the record straight with Li and Nicole.
