‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) Spoilers: Steve Burton (Harris Michaels) Makes Huge Announcement Following WGA Writers Striker

With the various strikes happening in Hollywood from the WGA to the SAG-AFTR ones, WGA was the one that affected soap operas as it meant temporary or replacement writers came in to work on the shows and ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers noticed a change.

While the shows kept their names off their broadcasts and listings to protect them from blowback from the union, the result was a pretty interesting change of pace.

It literally gave new writers a chance to inject their ideas and style and put on an audition to stay employed when the strike ended.

For the most part, it was a solid move as we saw normally plodding shows like ‘The Young and the Restless’ and ‘General Hospital’ ramp up the excitement and streamline storylines to decent fanfare from fans.

But one show that took longer for the temporary writers to make their mark is ‘Days of Our Lives’ because they typically shoot six months ahead instead of the normal couple of weeks or month.

‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: We’re about to enter new territory

The question of when we’d get to see the temporary writers’ efforts was answered by Steve Burton (Harris Michaels) on his and Bradford Anderson (Damian Spinelli on ‘General Hospital)’s renamed podcast “The Daily Drama Podcast.”

It was a fun show as they welcomed ‘General Hospital’ star Laura Wright (Carly Spencer), and she joined with Bradford in asking how far ahead ‘Days of Our Lives’ shoots.

In typical Stonecold manner, Steve deadpanned “17 years. I turned 64 on the show last week.”

Turning serious he said, “It’s a lot. You’ve already done Christmas, and we’re on May. April and May.”

‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Different style

As ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers mentioned above, we’ve noticed a difference in how the shows were paced as they sped up where they needed to speed up and slowed down where they needed to slow down.

This has us looking forward to seeing what kind of changes we can expect on ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers in the coming weeks.

Lately, it’s felt like the show has rushed even more as they’ve given weak exits to favorite characters and seem to forget a plot point from one scene to another more and more.

Assuming Steve is right and there’s no reason to doubt him, then it’s not the temporary writers making those mistakes, but the show’s regulars. Whether it’s to get their stories done or bad editing and last minute changes, it’s been rough at times.

What do you expect with the temporary writers? Let us know in the comments below and check back with ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers for the latest updates, spoilers, and speculation around.
