One of the things ‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers love about soap operas is how they give life lessons through their storylines, and Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) was a great lesson in that.
Not only has Nicole been knocking out of the part in her scenes since her baby “died”, but she’s also been showing the importance of receiving help when dealing with trauma after any situation.
In Monday, December 25’s episode, Nicole completely overlooked Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis)’s suffering and made it worse by listing her own problems.
This is understandable given what Nicole’s been through, but the fact that she and EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) took off and left Holly on her birthday shows the disconnect.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers – Typical soap opera parenting
If there’s one constant in soap operas it’s that a vast majority of parents in the shows are bad parents. They nearly always send their kids off to boarding schools until they’re rapidly aged, or they ignore their problems.
In the case of some parents, they micro manage and manipulate their children’s lives out of a need to control them.
In Nicole’s case, she’s been a good mother more than not and it makes sense that she needed to go off for a break, but since it was only one night, they couldn’t have taken Holly with them?
Not many 17 year olds would react to being left and forgotten on their birthday, and the fact Nicole tries to list Holy’s problems as her own showed her tunnel vision.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers – EJ’s influence?
This could be chalked up to EJ’s influence as his focus will be strictly on Nicole and wanting to help her find peace and get better, so Holly wouldn’t have crossed his mind.
The contrast is Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) as the show continues to remind us they’re going to put him and Nicole together whether the fans want it or not.
Eric’s the calming influence and as Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) pointed out, Eric, Nicole, Holly, and Jude were a good looking family.
Eric has that affect on every as Sloan as grown by leaps and bounds since their relationship started, and when the news of the baby theft comes out that’ll be destroyed in favor of another boring run of Eric and Nicole.
As for EJ, ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers think he’s just being his pragmatic, aggressive self. He sees Nicole in trouble and that’s all he sees while Eric sees the bigger picture.
