In the past, Xander had been married to Sarah. Xander was having trouble making a living. Understandably, Xander had wanted to provide for Sarah. Xander decided that he would help Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) because she wanted to get back at EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel). Unfortunately, Xander did not know that Ava’s plan would go off the rails. Xander had hoped that Sarah would not find out that he had helped Ava. However, Sarah found out the truth about Xander’s involvement with Ava. Sarah believed that she needed to end her marriage to Xander. However, Sarah had found out that she was going to have Xander’s baby. Sarah decided to leave Salem with Rex Brady (Kyle Lowder).

Recently, Xander had been able to find out that Sarah tried to keep his daughter Victoria Horton-Cook away from him. Sarah believed that Xander would bring trouble into Victoria’s life. Unfortunately, Xander decided to try to get full custody of Victoria from Sarah. Xander and Sarah were going to get into a bitter custody fight for Victoria. However, Sarah and Xander did not anticipate that Konstantin Meleounis (John Kapelos) would use Victoria to help him with his plot to get close to Maggie Horton Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers). Sarah and Xander believe that Konstantin helped to save Victoria from a kidnapper. However, Sarah and Xander do not know that Konstantin got Theresa Donovan (Emily O’Brien) to help him to take Victoria. Sarah and Xander decided to put an end to their custody fight. Fortunately, Sarah decided that she would let Xander be a part of Xander’s life. Sarah has been getting close to Xander because they have been taking care of Victoria. Finally Xander has been hoping that he will be able to have a future with Sarah and Victori. Xander may decide that he wants to ask Sarah to marry him again.
