‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: John Black’s (Drake Hogestyn) Past as the Pawn is Exposed, but What About Steve’s Part?

‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers love the twist this week where Konstantin Meleounis (John Kapelos) pulled a card of doom trick out of his pocket and triggered John Black (Drake Hogestyn)’s implanted memories of being the Pawn.

It harkens back to when he was controlled by Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) and Konstantin filled in some of the gaps in their history on February 5’s episode.

It looks like John killed Catharina, we’re guessing she was Konstantin’s wife, when he was trying to kill Konstantin on Victor’s orders.

Because the card wiped out John’s self control by wiping away and burying his real personality, he was completely under Konstantin’s control.

‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers – Opening old wounds

After seeing how far John would go under his control by ordering him to kill himself, Konstantin stopped him as he’ll get his revenge for Catharina, but first he has plans for John.

‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers assume one of those plans will be to take care of Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) since he’s been a thorn in Konstantin’s side, but there’s bound to be more than that.

One possibility is he’ll use John to terrorize Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) since he’s an obstacle for him. Another is he’ll have John steal as much of Maggie Horton (Suzanne Rogers)’s money as possible.

While those are definite possibilities, we can’t help but wonder about Steve.

Steve appears to know about John’s past and he never said anything, and that could wind up coming back to haunt him.

‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers – Sins of the past

This is where things will get interesting as Steve may know a way to help John break Konstantin’s control through the card, but he’ll probably need Marlena Evans (Diedre Hall)’s help to do it.

In a way, this could be argued that it’s another possession type of storyline, though it’s not really a possession. More like borrowing from ‘General Hospital’ in the use of cards triggering sleeper agents.

Still, this storyline just picked up some much needed steam now that more of Konstantin’s history if becoming known, and it’s possible it’ll put him in a different light, maybe even a sympathetic one.

It does explain his hatred for Victor, which was never really discussed before, and it’s something that’s understandable.

Of course, it’ll also be interesting to find out what Konstantin did to warrant a assassin attack by the Pawn, and that should be fun. We’re just wondering how much of the show’s established history will be changed or if this is adding to it.
