However, Stephanie was upset that Chad could not get over the loss of his wife Abigail Deveraux DiMera (Marci Miller). Stephanie and Chad decided that they would break up. However, Stephanie was excited that Everett came back in her life. Stephanie had wanted to take her time getting to know Everett again.
