‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Whether It’s The Writing Or Directing, The Show MISSED The Drama Caused By Clyde Weston (James Read)

‘Days of Our Live’s (DOOL) spoilers love the twists and turns we get in Salem, and we expected a lot with Clyde Weston (James Read) setting out to send a message to everyone.

But what we got was a lazy version of the end of the first two ‘Godfather’ films. Granted, we didn’t expect Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo) to be killed, but the lazy way the shooter took aim, fired twice and missed was sad.

Let’s not get into the lack of urgency during the Horton house fire or how Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) was able to stand in the doorway for minutes with a fire extinguisher when the whole house should’ve gone up.

Or how flat and unenergetic his children were or Tripp Johnson (Lucas Adams)’s lackadaisical walk to the alley after getting Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun)’s call about Harris Michaels (Steve Burton) being shot.

It was just… lazy instead of urgent.

‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers – Sense of urgency

‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers know it’s incredibly hard to put out as many shows as they do a year, and with replacement writers in the house for these episodes we were expecting a lift in the pacing like on ‘General Hospital’ and ‘The Young and the Restless’.

Both of those shows improved tremendously under the new writers and it was obvious when they stepped in, just as it is with ‘DOOL’ but for different reasons.

Monday, February 12’s episode was just hard to watch, and we think it was done purposely to drag out and torture fans over an extended period to watch the Horton house burn down.

Fans were already irate over it and the pacing needed to be more hectic with fast cuts, frantic movements, and more alarmed voices that could be augmented if needed.

Instead, it fell flatter than a pancake run over by a pneumatic roller.

‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers – Saving the episode

The saving grace of the episode was Paulina Price (Jackée Harry) and Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens)’s scene as they attempted to have a girl’s night before Paulina went on for surgery the next day.

It was touching and fun, and Chanel showed she’s her mother’s daughter when she put her foot down about Paulina talking about dying.

Then there was the phone call Chad got at the end to remind him he’d better listen next time.

That was perfect as he knows he’s to blame after unnecessarily antagonizing Clyde, but we’re sure he’ll be placated for his idiocy since it was Clyde that had the house burned down.
