NBC has announced that it will renew the iconic soap opera Days Of Our Lives for a record-breaking 55th season. This makes it the longest-running show on the network to date. Despite declining ratings, the show still maintains respectable viewership, with the 2017 season seeing a four percent increase in viewers. The series is available in 25 countries and has aired almost every weekday since its inception in the mid-1960s. Some cast members, such as Deidre Hall and Drake Hogestyn, have been part of the show for decades.
